About the GBBC Founders
In 1994, a few good men met
with Pastor Hill to discuss the idea of beginning a Boy
Scout program. Research was done and contact was made
with the Boy Scout council office. A proud tradition
was in the making. Over the last 13 years Pack and
Troop 46 have grown young boys into men. We proudly
boast of a village of elders centered around the love of God
and a mission to shape and mold the men of tomorrow.
Our scouting family consist of a group of dedicated men and
women who are trained and experience at delivering the
"Promise of Scouting". The fruit of our labor has
produced 8 Eagle scouts with several more developing in the
wings.
Troop 46 Leadership Over the last 13
years we have had several good Scoutmasters and Assistant
who have helped to build a strong foundation. The
current Scoutmaster is Dea. Dennis L. Moore. He has
served as Scoutmaster since 1996. Assistant Scout
Master, Al Willis has served for over 5 years. Both
their wives serve as Girl Scout Leaders. Mrs. Joann
Buckner has also recently served as Assistant Scoutmaster.
Please welcome Bro. Robert Hill
to scouting! He will serve as an Assistant Scoutmaster
for Troop 46.
We also have several of our
Eagle Scouts who also volunteer as Assistant Scoutmaster and
lend their experience to the Troop. Our Leaders have
received the Silver Beaver Award, District Award of Merit,
Scoutmaster of the Year, Cub master of the Year,
Leader of the Year, Order of the Arrow, Wood Badge,
Scoutmaster Key, Unit Quality Award and various other
recognitions.
Scout Committee
Mrs. Virginia Spires has served as our Committee Chairperson
for over 10 years. Mrs. Roester Cole serves as our
Charter Representative. The committee members
are Mrs. Barbara White, Mrs. Ramona Pugh, Mrs. Lillian
Watson, Mrs. Dixie Mitchell and Mrs. Sharon Pearson.
