Becoming a member of Greater Beallwood Baptist Church

The Church Family of Greater Beallwood Baptist is truly happy and proud to welcome you as a member to our congregation.  We hope your membership here will be filled with spirited worship, dedicated service, and bountiful blessings.  Our Motto is: "The Church where everybody is somebody and God is all".  We welcome you and thank God for adding you to the Body of Christ.

Greater Beallwood Baptist has a full and well rounded calendar of worship services, seminars, events and activities for all ages.  We would like to encourage all members to fully participate and support all church functions.  We provide a series of classes for all new members.

There are only three ways of admitting an individual to membership in a Baptist Church:

  • By Baptism
  • By letter from previous church
  • By Christian experience

What does "Baptist" mean?
The word "Baptist" is a Greek word (Baptizo), which means to dip, to immerge or plunge into (under) water.  We believe Jesus Christ set the example for Baptism.

"And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan." Mark 1:9

What is a Baptist Church?
A Baptist Church is a company of regenerated persons, Baptized by immersion on a profession of faith in Jesus Christ; united in covenant for worship, instruction, the observance of Christian ordinances, and for such services as the gospel requires:  recognizing and accepting Jesus Christ as their supreme Lord and Lawgiver, and taking his word as their only and sufficient rule of faith and practice in all matters of conscience and religion.

What is the Holy Communion?
The Holy Communion is one of the doctrines that we as Baptist believe and practice.  It is a highly spiritual rite in which we recall the suffering and death of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.  The Bread and Wine used in the ceremony are symbolic of His Body, Blood and Suffering.

What does God say about Tithes and Offerings?"
Bring Ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of Hosts, If I will not open you the windows of Heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it".
Malachi 3:10

The Greater Beallwood Baptist Church does not participate in fund raisers.  Our Church assessments are "Tithes and Offerings".  Tithes being the first 10% of your Gross Income, time and talents.  Only then is it possible to give an Offering to the Lord.
